Victoria University – Change of Preference
FLEXIBLE PATHWAYS TO SUIT YOUR STUDY GOALS
WHAT IS A PATHWAY?
'Pathway' is a term we use to refer to the different ways you can get into your chosen course. Our pathways are designed to suit all types of students regardless of their prior experience, ATAR, age, socioeconomic or educational background.
HOW DOES A PATHWAY WORK?
A pathway can start with a certificate, progress to a diploma, then an undergraduate degree, right through to postgraduate study. Pathways offer great flexibility as you can take advantage of an easy transition between courses at different levels.
SEAMLESS TRANSITION FROM TAFE TO HIGHER EDUCATION
VU is also one of the few institutions in Australia to offer both TAFE and higher education, with accessible, seamless transitions between courses at all levels, across all disciplines.
We offer a streamlined pathway from some one-year diplomas straight into the second year of a bachelor degree, with full credit for the first year of the degree.
If you have a dream career, we have
a course to get you there.
Find Your Pathway
The diploma was a fantastic stepping stone into the degree. I enjoyed the hands-on, group scenario work, in a really innovative environment. It wasn’t the typical ‘desks and lectures’ type of learning, and it was great preparation for uni.
Diploma of Business (Enterprise)
Bachelor of Business (Event Management)
Everything changed when I got a chance to come to VU. I completed English language studies, then took a pathway through TAFE nursing studies and onto my degree. The best thing about VU was the friendly, multicultural environment, and the amazing support I received from teachers. I’m currently working as a registered nurse at Sunshine Hospital.

I didn’t finish year 12, so I was doubtful that I would be able to get to where I wanted to be in life. VP helped me realise that when there is a will there is a way… After three long years, I’m proud to say I reached my goal and finally finished my degree.
